Technology
From rail embankment monitoring to mining tunnel condition monitoring, our systems are designed for infrastructure-free industrial environments. The Senceive solution uses a mesh-networked, intelligent sensor systems consisting of a collection of small devices, equipped with sensing, communication and computation capabilities. They work cooperatively to monitor industrial environments, plant and buildings. Measurement is at the heart of management. Knowing the state of assets facilitates efficient, economic and safe operations – monitoring degradation, scheduling remedial action or reacting quickly to accidents. We design systems to monitor with minimum intervention.
We have developed a System Integration Layer consisting of a lightweight operating system and modules that interface between the sensors, communications layers and processing systems on each node. The nodes are micro-controller based; mesh-networked with IEEE 802.15.4. This forms a system that can monitor an industrial area. Proprietary algorithms support functions such as clustering, data retrieval and policy distribution, self diagnosis, position estimation, dynamic algorithm management and security models. While our proprietary technology is exciting and innovative we only bring the most robust and applicable techniques to our commercial products, through our technical development plan.
Product Range
Senceive’s family of mesh-networked sensor units equips companies with the capability of efficiently monitoring their infrastructure.
Our baseline unit, the FlatMesh Node, gives industry the core unit to mesh-network their own varied sensors. It needs little installation or know-how, and requires little ongoing support. With the use of different radio technology options, performance can be optimised for different ranges of geographical coverage. Extra units may be added at any time when additional or unforeseen monitoring requirements are presented. Our FlatMesh Nodes come in two flavours – low precision (10 bit) FM1 devices, and high precision (16 bits) FM2 devices. Our nodes are readily able to interface to any analogue sensor providing a voltage output or be used for reporting At present we are able to readily deploy sensors capable of monitoring the following:
- Tilt
- Crack width
- Temperature / Relative Humidity
- UV / Visible light
- Formaldehyde
Our IntelliMesh Node offers industry an “intelligent infrastructure” where the system detects local or distributed problems with an industrial asset and reports as necessary.
Our gateway unit, the FlatMesh Gateway Node, gives industry the ability to remotely monitor their infrastructure by extracting data from an installed mesh sensor network. Data may be manually extracted or regular updates may be configured. Our gateways can be mains powered, connected to PCs via USB, or solar panel powered units that communicate to a remote server via GPRS.
Our WebMonitor online software makes it easy to access data as graphical information to improve decision making. Alerts can be set up so that specific users of your organisation can be emailed and sent a mobile phone text message in the event of an alert breach. The image below shows a snapshot of a graph show the tilt along several sleeprs at one of our railway sites.
