Structural and geotechnical monitoring is a key aspect of risk management during tunnel construction. An effective monitoring programme can help engineers understand the behaviour of the underground structure they are building, the ground around it, and buildings and infrastructure in the zone of influence above.
It can also help asset managers understand the long term performance of tunnels and underground structures, helping them target maintenance and extend asset lifetime.
What you’ll learn:
- Overview of monitoring approaches and their respective pros and cons
- Focus on wireless remote monitoring technologies
- Case studies with an overview of practical considerations and outcomes
