New leadership at Senceive: Farewell Graham – Welcome Martin

In December we bid farewell in his retirement to our long-standing CEO Graham Smith and welcomed new president Martin Turgeon.

Graham led the company for 13 years, overseeing the transformation from a five-person start-up, to a hugely successful international business with over 80 people working at the forefront of wireless monitoring.

At 65 years old, retirement had always been part of his personal plan since the acquisition by Eddyfi/NDT last May and the senior management team has had seven months to plan a careful and orderly handover alongside Martin Turgeon, the new company president. Canadian Martin was part of the Eddyfi/NDT management team responsible for the acquisition of Senceive; he has more than 15 years’ experience of management in the industrial instrumentation field. This includes having most recently spent three years based in the UK in charge of TSC Subsea, another Eddyfi/NDT business unit.

He is excited about what the future holds: “The possibilities for wireless condition monitoring are tremendous right now. As the clear market leader, Senceive is in a special place to harness the potential, especially with regards to its unique intelligent monitoring solutions; with the backing of Eddyfi/NDT the pace and breadth of organic and acquisitive growth can be further accelerated”.

Meanwhile, Graham reflects fondly on his time leading the company: “I am immensely proud of what the company has achieved. It seems only yesterday that we were taking the first steps in deploying our tiny wireless sensors and communication platforms on tunnels, bridges and rail tracks. Whilst we are, fundamentally, a technology and engineering business our ultimate success has always been down to the quality, motivation and commitment of our people. They are second to none and whilst I am very sad to say goodbye to the daily contact with the team, I am convinced that under the stewardship of Martin and Eddyfi/NDT the business will continue to grow and enjoy ever more success. I would like to think that my legacy of absolute customer focus and continuous innovation is hardwired into the business and will remain at the core of the Senceive DNA. I would finally like to say a personal and massive thank you to all our Partners and Customers in the UK and the rest of the world - particularly to those who were with us in the early years - for their amazing support and guidance, which helped us become the company we are today.”
