Senceive Launches New Drainage Monitoring and Flood Detection Application

Senceive Launches New Drainage Monitoring and Flood Detection Application

Automated solution delivers early warning of rising water levels and system blockages

Senceive has announced the launch of a new drainage monitoring application designed to help asset owners and engineers detect flood risks earlier and respond faster.

Flooding and blocked drains are a major cause of disruption and safety incidents across transport and infrastructure networks. With climate change increasing the frequency and severity of extreme weather events, the ability to remotely monitor drainage systems and respond proactively is more important than ever.

Senceive’s new application uses a combination of long-life wireless water level sensors, soil moisture sensors, weather stations and remote cameras to provide early warning of rising water or potential blockages. The solution delivers near real-time data and early warning alerts, helping to minimise unplanned maintenance, reduce disruption, and keep people and assets safe.

“Drainage is often out of sight and hard to access, but when it fails, the consequences can be serious,” said James Taylor, Product Manager at Senceive “Our new application allows engineers to monitor drainage remotely, gain near real-time visibility, and take action before issues escalate.”

As with all Senceive systems, the drainage monitoring solution is easy to install, long-life, highly reliable, and proven to operate in challenging environments. From trackside culverts and highway drains to urban catchpits, the technology is suitable for a wide range of sites.

The addition of camera verification enhances awareness, giving asset owners visual confirmation of conditions on the ground without needing to send people to site.

This latest application strengthens Senceive’s offering for infrastructure owners looking to improve resilience and reduce the risk of flooding-related incidents.
